How Health Care Should Be
For well over two decades the political class has debated the cost of health care coverage and what to do about it, without ever addressing the possibility that their intervention in the health care marketplace has created most of the problem. Rather than acknowledge the difference between health care coverage, health insurance, and actual health care of people, they have allowed the special interests within the insurance and medical industries to manipulate policy to the point that coverage costs are spiraling out of control and actual access to health care is plummeting. While the current debate focuses on one side pledging to repeal the “Affordable Care Act” and the other side pledging to fight to save it, no one is talking about how to reintroduce to health care the free market forces that built this country and have proven to be the most powerful force ever for improving the human condition, including health care.
Despite all of the restrictions imposed by politicians, some medical professionals have declared that enough is enough and have sidestepped the insurance system to bring market forces back to the health care industry. These are the stories of just a few people whose lives have been changed, and perhaps even saved, by medical professionals who decided there had to be a better way.
If these stories resonate with you, we ask that you share them with your friends, family, and co-workers and, maybe even suggest that your legislators and local government officials take a look as well.
